Sustainability Workshop Scholarships
We fund Greater Cincinnati advocates to attend global sustainability workshops. Our scholarships cover all costs - travel, lodging, and registration fees. Participants learn from industry leaders at events in cities like Portland and Copenhagen, focusing on environmental justice, sustainability, and transit solutions.
TransportationCamp DC - January 10, 2026 - Application deadline: December 15, 2025 - An annual "unconference" at Catholic University where transportation enthusiasts, advocates, practitioners, business leaders, and students gather to share ideas and map out new possibilities for transportation. Attendees steer the conversation by submitting, voting on, and facilitating breakout sessions on topics of their choice, including reducing transportation emissions, reconnecting communities divided by harmful infrastructure, improving pedestrian safety, and exploring new transportation technologies. This participant-driven format allows attendees to create the experience they want while learning from diverse perspectives across the transportation sector.
NACTO Designing Cities in Minneapolis - May 12 - May 15, 2026 - Application deadline: March 15, 2026 - The annual NACTO Designing Cities Conference brings together over 1,000 people passionate about advancing the state of transportation in North American cities—engineers, planners, government agency leaders, elected officials, advocates, and other transportation professionals of all career levels. Through a packed schedule of plenaries, peer sessions, workshops, Meet the Cities, and WalkShops, attendees leave with the knowledge, drive, and connections to make safer, more inclusive, accessible, and joyful cities. Hosted by the City of Minneapolis, this conference centers city transportation staff and features innovations from leaders in transportation transformation.

IBPI Study Abroad: Sustainable Transportation in Denmark - June 20 - July 4, 2026 - Application deadline: January 31, 2026 - Portland State University presents an introduction to sustainable transportation and land use applications in the context of Denmark through a two-week study abroad program. This program is open to college juniors/seniors and graduate students from any university and professionals.

TransportationCamp is a series of decentralized unconferences held throughout the world, where people of all backgrounds meet to discuss transportation-related topics. Each one is organized independently by their own local organizing committee, and may be held in conjunction with a larger conference or event. It brings together students, transportation professionals, technologists, and others interested in the intersection of urban transportation and technology.
