Cincinnati Connector Streetcar and passengers in OTR

On February 1st, more than 530 people attended or joined the livestream of the Streetcar Citizen Forum which gauged interest in nine potential routes for expanding Cincinnati streetcar beyond Downtown and Over-the-Rhine. Additionally, 2,801 people ranked the routes and 980 comments were collected.

Of the nine options, survey participants ranked these routes first and second:

  • Downtown to Uptown Corridor: This route uses Reading Road, Burnet and University Avenues, and ends on Short Vine in Corryville.

  • Clifton to Walnut Hills Cooridor: This route uses Clifton Avenue, the Calhoun/McMillan/Taft triplet to Woodburn, and ends on Madison Road in East Walnut Hills.

How You Can Help:

The City of Cincinnati, working with Uptown stakeholders, must undertake a detailed study of these two routes.  Your voice is essential in moving this project forward!

Please send an original message to Mayor Pureval and City Council asking them to study the physical characteristics of these routes, likely benefits, costs, and how each might be financed by completing the form below.

More information about the Connector streetcar, Citizen Forum, and the proposed routes can be found below the form.

About the Streetcar’s Success:
On November 24th, 2023, Cincinnati’s Connector streetcar served its millionth passenger of the year. With renewed and impressive growth in public support, the Cincinnati Streetcar has seen record-breaking ridership each year.

Among the nation's 15 modern streetcar systems, Cincinnati's Streetcar ranks among the highest number of passengers served per hour of operation.

As the Cincinnati Streetcar has exceeded expectations, contributing over $1.4 billion in economic development within 1,000 feet of its stops, we’re excited to imagine where the future of the streetcar will take us next!

About the Citizen Forum and Route Options:

The Streetcar Citizen Forum was sponsored by the Devou Good Foundation and was designed to engage a wide audience in shaping the city’s transportation future. See the proposed nine route options on our website or watch the Citizen Forum recording.
